5 things you didn’t know about Jubilation’s vibrant 55-plus lifestyle

Jubilation by Silver Companies, a premier 55-plus community along the beautiful Rappahannock River, offers all the convenience and luxury you deserve, plus a joyful and vibrant lifestyle.

Here are five special features that make Jubilation such a great place to live.

1. First-rate events and entertainment

Ask just about anyone what they love about Jubilation, and the first thing they rave about is the director of entertainment, Eric Brouman.

“He’s really a mover and a shaker,” said Jubilation member Charlie Griner. “We have musical events several times a week, rock bands, country bands, singers, sometimes even a polka band.”

Charlie and his wife, Brenda, also love the regular outings Brouman arranges to Fredericksburg restaurants, as well as cultural activities like a recent trip to the Riverside Center for the Performing Arts to see the Broadway hit “Jersey Boys.”

“It was so exciting,” said Brenda Griner. “The acting was incredible. The sets were incredible. It was amazing.”

2. Nature at your door

Jubilation has its own private 4.5-acre park, where you’ll find an amphitheater for concerts and entertainment, a car wash, a bourbon and cigar lounge, four hobby clubhouses (for art, woodworking, gardening and cars), a nature path, pickleball and bocce ball courts and more. It’s also a great place to simply enjoy the beauty of nature.

The park, in fact, is what convinced Nancy Ayers to move to Jubilation. “When I learned I could have a raised gardening bed there, that made the case for me,” Ayers said.

It inspired her to start a garden club, where members grow vegetables, herbs and flowers. And new to the community this year is a butterfly garden.

“Everyone from beginner to expert is welcome,” Ayers said. “We have a great time.”

3. Chef-crafted food in a friendly, sociable environment

Meals at Jubilation are anything but ordinary. Each morning, there’s a chef-crafted breakfast buffet with an array of eggs, bacon, cereals, croissants, muffins and more to rival a five-star hotel.

The unique dinners are served tapas-style, a modern innovation featuring a variety of international- and American-inspired dishes that showcase the creativity of the culinary team, who can accommodate special diets as well. There’s also an excellent salad bar. And best of all, you’re not limited to a single dinner choice. You’re welcome to enjoy as many different dishes as you like.

4. The ease of making new friends

“You know, I have more friends here than I’ve ever had, and it’s wonderful,” said Brenda Griner.

In addition to a warm, welcoming atmosphere, there are special activities that make it easy to form new friendships.

When you first move in, you’ll be introduced to other members you can go to dinner or an event with. At meet-your-neighbor get-togethers, strangers become friends by sharing life experiences, and game events are another fun way for people to get acquainted.

There’s also a biography booklet with information about each member that makes it easy to find people with similar interests to yours.
